Our Special Educational Needs and Disability leader (S.E.N.D.) is Mrs Wrixon.  If you have any complaints regarding SEND support provided in school please speak to Mrs Wrixon in the first instance.  If you are not satisified after speaking to her, please refer to our complaints procedure in the school policies section.

William Barnes prides itself on being a very inclusive school. We are deeply committed to catering for all needs, no matter what they are, to enable all children to achieve the best they can.

Children have special educational needs if they have a learning difficulty which calls for special education provision to be made for them. They may be finding it more difficult to learn than the majority of children their own age or they may have a disability which stops them from making full use of the educational facilities provided for the children of the same age in school. William Barnes has a team of very skilled and experienced teachers who work closely together to make sure everyone is making progress. Our SENCo is Mrs Karen Wrixon and our designated governor for SEND is Mrs Rachel Barbet.

The school follows the guidance contained in the SEN Code of Practice 0 - 25 years - July 2014
